Job Overview

We are seeking four skilled Bakers to join our camp catering team in Kolwezi. Responsible for preparing high-quality baked goods that support daily catering operations within a remote mining camp environment. The role requires strict adherence to food safety, hygiene standards, and consistent production to meet the dietary needs of camp residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of breads, rolls, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods for camp catering services.
  • Follow standardized recipes and production schedules to meet daily meal service requirements.
  • Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all bakery products.
  • Monitor ingredient stock levels and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor or camp manager.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the bakery section in line with food safety and health regulations.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials and finished products.
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Support the catering team during high-volume meal preparation when required.
  • Minimize waste through proper portioning and careful handling of ingredients.
  • Comply with Yasam’s health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate or diploma in Baking, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a baker in a commercial kitchen, catering company, hotel, or camp environment.
  • Experience working in remote sites, mining camps, or high-volume catering operations is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict production schedules.
